The Blessing Called Family

This Labor Day weekend we made the rounds visiting. From Birmingham to Arrington to Lavergne to Nashville to Paducah and back. It was a great time with a lot of our favorite people. We cherish the time we are able to spend together.

Us with Travis, Dorothy and the girls.
We are so glad they live a little closer now.

2028 Dream Team

God has blessed many of our friends and family with babies over the last few months (and years). Recently, we have enjoyed getting to hang out with our new little buddies.

And now the starting line-up for your 2028 Dream Team:
(insert Chicago Bulls intro music)

~ Starting at Power Forward, at 7 pounds, 15 ounces
from Hoover, AL #34~
Colton West Penter

Colton was born to our friends Camron and Martina on August 14th. They were officially the first couple in our combined CORE groups to have a baby. He is such a cutie and we are so excited for the Penters. Colton should get started sharpening his skills at Tuesday night bball sometime next month. His mom's only rule was that he be at least larger than the basketball, so October should be just right.

~ At Small Forward from Athens, AL, at 6lbs 2oz and 19" #22 ~
Jackson Vaughn Ortner

My cousin, Brittany had the first great-grandchild in our family on August 26th. Jackson is such a sweet little man. Please remember them specifically in your prayers. Brittany actually had some cardiac complications this week and had surgery to put a pacemaker in today. The last few days have been pretty crazy, especially considering they have a 1 week old baby. Although he's starting out small, he comes from a very competitive family and will be hitting the hardwoods and dominating the boards in no time.

Some of the cute decorations in his room.

~ At Point Guard from East Nashville, TN at 18lbs #12 ~
Kelvey Lynn Sarver

Kelvey celebrated her 1st birthday last week. We enjoyed so much getting to visit before her big party. Although we don't see Ron and Stacey very often it's always fun to catch up. Their little girl is precious. Her lightning speed and agilities will make her a balla for sure.

~ At shooting guard coming all the way from St. Louis, MO #14~
Ellie Grace Walters

We finally got to meet our newest niece, Ellie this weekend. She is such a doll and a very pleasant baby. We are so blessed to have such wonderful nieces. Although she looks innocent, her mad ups and intimidating defense are sure to rattle the opponent.

But wait... who will start at center?

If you feel that your child has what it takes to be on the 2028 Dream Team -submit stats, a highlight reel and family history as soon as possible.
